Swansea Tennis Centre has held its annual charity golf day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Around 40 golfers took part in the event at Morriston Golf Club which raised £900 for the cancer charity.

“Having done this for the first time last year we were delighted with the response, but this year, hopefully helped by some better weather, it was a bigger and better event,” said Swansea Tennis Centre Manager Owain Rees.

“To raise nearly £1,000 for such a good cause was a great effort from all concerned.

“I think all the teams enjoyed the competition, especially the pop-up bar on the 12th hole, and being part of a charitable event.”

The individual winner was Darren Heaton with the team prize going to Phil Jones, Craig Ingham, Darren Heaton and Gareth Lewis.
